Meet Ella - A Young Start In The Making
Ella is an 8-year-old junior match angler from Cambridgeshire, proudly sponsored by the Middy Match Range.
Her fishing journey began at just 4 years old during a family camping trip to Crystal Lakes, where she caught her first carp — and a lifelong passion was born. Since then, Ella has spent countless hours on the bank, learning new techniques, testing gear, and sharing her love for fishing with others.
At just 7 years old, Ella achieved her personal best match section win with an incredible 94lb 4oz, proving that age is no barrier when passion and dedication come together. Now, as a rising young angler, she continues to inspire the next generation to get out, explore, and enjoy the world of fishing.
Fishing All Over
Ella fishes all over the country, with her home venue being the well-known Float Fish Farm complex in Cambridgeshire, where she regularly competes in junior and open matches. She also travels to other fisheries across the UK, always eager to take on new waters. When she’s not match fishing, Ella loves spending time on the Fenland drains, where she targets pike during the colder months. Whether it’s carp, silvers, or predators, Ella simply loves being out on the bank — rod in hand and ready for the next bite.
Impressive Match Results & Personal Bests
Ella’s highest match weight to date is an outstanding 94lb 6oz. Her personal best catches include a 26lb common carp, a 24lb mirror carp, a 32lb catfish, and a 12lb pike — showcasing her skills across a range of species and styles.
