🎣 Ella’s Winter Session Report – January 25, 2025

🧊 Tackling the Cold with New Middy Gear
On January 25, Ella braved the winter chill and headed down to Float Fish Farm for her first session of the year — not to compete, but to test out some of the brand new Middy gear she’d received as part of her sponsorship.
The conditions were proper rough – cold winds, freezing fingers, and that deep winter stillness across the lake. But that didn’t stop her. She got a few solid hours in on the bank, pushing through the cold to see how the new kit handled.
🎯 Ella focused mainly on the bomb rod, trying out different setups with light feeding and accurate casting. Despite the temperature, she managed to land a few quality fish – a result in January for sure! The bites were finicky, but when they came, the rod bent beautifully, and the kit felt solid.
💬 “It was absolutely freezing – I could barely feel my fingers at one point,” said Ella. “But once I had a couple of fish, I knew I must have been doing something right!”
Even though it wasn’t a match day, the session was a big success. She learned a lot, gained confidence in her gear, and came away buzzing for the season ahead.
🎥 And the best part? We filmed the whole day!

Massive thanks to Middy for the amazing gear, and as always, to Chris, Jamie, and Ben at Float Fish Farm for their support.
🎣 Until next time,
